Chris Caswell, a Baltimore native and NYC escapee, has acted off-off Broadway and for film and television, but fell in love with the no-budget, anything-goes lifestyle of Fringe Festival theatre in 1999. Since then, she has written, produced and toured the plays Circus Reject Peep Show, Escape, Maudlin Dementia Returns to the Stage and 2112 in addition to co-writing and collaborating on several others. Here in Burlington, she has been humbled by the community’s overwhelming support for theatre. Heat & Hot Water’s inaugural production of Matt & Ben was an absolute joy to work on, as was Sweet Racket Productions’ Once and Future Ubu. Currently, Chris is writing a comedy about a dying girl entitled Wither.
Marianne DiMascio, a longtime resident of Burlington, has enjoyed performing in various New England theatre productions, including A Chorus Line, The Vagina Monologues, Steel Magnolias, and The Miser. Recently, she appeared onstage (and outdoors) with Vermont Shakespeare Company in their production of Twelfth Night, which combined the talents of New York City and Vermont actors. Her time with fellow H&HW members has been life-changing (and hilarious and naughty).
Geeda Searfoorce has performed in independent films and shorts and way-off-Broadway theatre productions in New York City, including Benita Canova for Todo con NADA’s Richard Foreman Festival; and Wanda’s Visit, People in the Wind and Last Chance Texaco for the Chelsea Repertory Lab. Since moving to Burlington in 2005, she has enjoyed gassing it up with Sweet Racket Productions’ Once and Future Ubu andhelping Heat and Hot Water take flight (along with its first production, Matt and Ben, and the incredibly fulfilling collaborative process from which Seeking has sprung). She looks forward to playing more with the gifted and bighearted artists in the thriving theatre community here in Vermont.
